Education represents more than the mere accumulation of information within the young mind; it is a deliberate and thoughtful assimilation of ideas aimed at building lives, shaping character, and creating individuals of moral substance. The ultimate objective of any educational endeavor is to cultivate goodness within individuals. Education, in essence, is the refined training that brings the expression of one's will under control, rendering it not only disciplined but also productive. What we aspire for is a form of education that transcends mere intellectual pursuits; we seek a man-making religion, a transformative educational process.

Shaheed Dunichand Tejandas Kalani, a philanthropist and social reformer, fervently believed that education held the key to eliminating societal ills. As the Chairman of the Ulhasnagar Municipal Schools Board, he dedicated himself to promoting education in Ulhasnagar, eventually sacrificing his life for the betterment of society. Following in his footsteps, Mr. Suresh (Pappu) Kalani, the Ex-MLA of Ulhasnagar Township, is committed to continuing this noble legacy. His dedication lies in the fight against corruption, guided by the principles of Mr. Anna Hazare.

In pursuit of this vision, the SDT Kalani Memorial Trust was established to provide education to all segments of the Ulhasnagar citizenry. The College of Education, initiated in 1990 near Shahad Station, Ulhasnagar-1, started with B.Ed. and D.Ed. courses. Progressively, from the academic year 2002-03, the Trust expanded its offerings to include a Degree college of Arts, Commerce, and Science, affiliated with the University of Mumbai. The Trust also established SDT Kalani High School at Kurla Camp Ulhasnagar-5 in 1992, providing education from Nursery to Std. X in English Medium. From the academic year 2002-03, the premises saw the introduction of a Degree and Junior College for Arts, Commerce, and Science faculty. Responding to contemporary needs, professional courses such as B.Sc. (IT) and BMS were introduced in 2005-06. In 2012-13, BCBI was added to the academic portfolio, followed by BAF and M.Com. (Advance Accountancy) in 2020-21.

The Trust's commitment to comprehensive education is evident in the establishment of KIDUCARE PRE-SCHOOL, a playgroup for Nursery, Jr. & Sr. K.G. within the Kalani College premises. Additionally, a new branch of KIDUCARE PRE-SCHOOL has been introduced in the Kalani School premises, Ulhasnagar-5. The College boasts well-equipped facilities, including a Computer Lab, Science Lab, and a extensive Library housing all required textbooks. The campus features a spacious Gymkhana, a large Playground with a stage, and an Air-conditioned Auditorium. Furthermore, ample parking space has been provided for staff, along with a dedicated playground for students.
